Embers Retreat is a fully immersive, psychotherapeutic nature retreat, aimed at easing the embers of your psychological and emotional pain as you immerse yourself in the naturally nurturing arms of nature. You will experience a sense of belonging in the group ‘circle of acceptance’, around the campfire as we share similar experiences of suffering. Embers is run by Masters level psychotherapists and counsellors with over 20years of outdoor living experience. Our retreats regularly pop up in changing locations around UK

Embers are happy to facilitate a retreat in your chosen county for groups of ten, providing a suitable natural location can be found.

We also tailor the psychotherapeutic element of group sessions for those groups who just wish to decompress and unplug from busy city or corporate stress.


You will camp in glamping comfort in natural surroundings, whilst coming together in like-minded groups to reflect, begin to heal, and share your unique journey, as only you experienced it, in a safe, empathetic, therapeutic and nurturing environment.

By investing in your mental health at an Embers Retreat weekend, you can prepare to enjoy the restorative and regulating benefits of nature whilst being swaddled in a sense of supportive belonging. At the same time reflecting on your experiences in group sessions, under the stars and around the camp fire.

When we gift our bodies with the soothing and restorative benefits of nature through all 5 senses, we allow within us, a healing experience of mindfulness, presence and peace.

Our over active nervous systems can then begin the journey of returning to calm. Allowing us to feel more grounded whilst working through difficult memories and experiences.

Whilst reducing stress in the arms of nature, clients book our retreats to be able to reflect and share their experiences in an accepting and empathic environment with others who have similar experiences.

Whether coming for emotional or psychological reasons, within nature, you get to decompress from the pressures of daily, urban life and return with a sense of hope and feeling more emotionally regulated.

Each day at Embers begins with you waking up snug and warm in a beautiful bell tent to the orchestral sound of wild birdsong and the invigorating scent of refreshing and unpolluted country air.

You will experience a relaxed easing in to the morning with coffee and breakfast before you and your group come together in our ‘circle of acceptance’ to reflect on your life experiences and how the negative effects of those experiences (such as stress, anxiety, depression, relational issues and trauma responses) are beginning to decrease in natural surroundings, amongst people you can relate to and who can relate to you.

You will develop better understanding that these are perfectly normal responses to abnormal events. After bonding a little more during your morning group session, you and your new retreat friends will be guided as you mindfully amble over invigorating, breezy coastal paths overlooking breathtaking panoramic views of the cliffs and coastline

Rewarding and rejuvenating your body mind and soul while ‘just be-ing’ amongst restorative forest paths where our rhythms are synchronised with those of the natural environment.

You will have earned and enjoyed your picnic lunch at your walking destination before returning to camp and having some time for yourself to just be before dinner.

In the evening

Around the campfire, the group comes together once again for a sense of belonging and bonding, to share our reflections and experiences of the day before ending the evening star gazing under the vast open sky.
